Yes, it has been a while again since I updated. I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday. We closed the studio December 15th for our yearly holiday break and reopened January 5th. We had quite an influx of clients for Christmas photo sessions, and I found myself working 15-hour days for several weeks. Wow…. that was a lot of craziness!
I am very happy to see 2011 go. It was a very weird year. My husband and I both feel like something kind of like the show Lost happened when we flew back from Australia in March. Things went very strange in our household, and we had a lot of odd experiences that the universe was throwing at us…. but, it’s now 2012, and we are looking forward to a great year! I really have it in my brain that I’m going to share a bunch of fun personal stuff this month on this blog, but you know how I am – I say I’m going to post and post and then I get sidetracked when business gets super busy, but all I can say is I will do my best!
On the business end of things, YES, we will be announcing more workshops here shortly. We are looking at March 1st and 2nd or 2nd and 3rd as our next photography workshop date. I will be releasing more information next week.
In the meantime, what did I do for two weeks when I closed the studio? Strangely, the first day that I was not stuck on the computer editing and placing orders was only a few days before Christmas. I went out to finally have some alone time to do a little Christmas shopping and…… and…… these EYES…. they were staring at me….. I have to slightly blame what happened next on my clients who brought this lovely little chihuahua to the studio that I fell in love with… I realized I have never had a little dog, and that has to be a lot of fun. So I took a picture of the puppy and texted it to my husband. I have to blame this on him as well….. I simply typed “I can haz?” And he replied simply “Yes”. HE WAS SUPPOSED TO SAY NO! What a dangerous combination…. so I brought her home….. Meet Penny, the King Charles Spaniel….
What else? hmmm…. well, we decided to convert our guest room into a “walk in closet” with wardrobes all on one wall floor to ceiling, and my daughter’s room had a complete overhaul where I built shelves to go all the way around her ceiling to control her hoarding…. errr… I mean “collecting”…. (we still need to get that ugly ceiling fan out of the grey room though)….
Lastly, I did a bit of domestic things…. and here’s the proof that I do cook occasionally when I’m not running this studio
So now, I am going to finish editing a few sessions and answer some voicemails! Back to work!
