1 of 52 Project | Baltimore Maryland Photographer

Okay, our first installment of 52 weeks of pictures.  I decided to bring my camera up to the barn on Wednesday.  I sat this riding lesson out again.  I haven’t been riding for some time as I have an incredibly herniated disk.  I see the surgeon next week.  For a while there, I was unable to photograph babies, but I’m able to once again, and in fact have felt pretty good considering.   I’m going to try to avoid surgery if possible.

I arrived knowing that we were just at that sweet light time in the evening… my favorite time to shoot.  I walked out in the fields with the horses but they were too busy eating to really give me anything good to shoot.  Well, here comes this little border collie pup –  His name is Ranger…  he was cute as a button and I decided he would be my first subject for the 1/52 project.  With one blue eye and one brown eye, I figured my “shot” would be a closeup of his cute little face maintaining eye contact.  I shot a bit, but I really wasn’t feeling it until I got down on the ground and saw the sweet light…. and that was it.

I loved the pink tones that were picked up in this shot.  I used my 85/1.4 stopped down to 3.5, ISO 3200 on the Nikon D3.

Well once Erynn got ahold of Ranger, he was fast asleep in her arms… she has a way with animals 😉
