A Little Kindness

What has happened to the photography industry?  No wait, there is an element that most of the time, we don’t even consider.  It’s not just the photography industry.

The world has evolved.  Proper social behavior is shattered into pieces.  The internet and Social media are a big part of it.  We no longer talk on the phone, we text and email.  We don’t get together with our friends, we Facebook.  It is what it is.  We’re all very aware of it, aren’t we?

But my big question of the day is this.

Where did kindness go?

Is someone not as speedy as you would like?   Are you dissatisfied with something?  Are you ready to flip your lid because it’s not all going your way or you don’t agree with something?

My husband shared a picture of me after getting all my hair cut off last weekend.  He shared it on Facebook and what was so odd is that someone said that through that picture, they could see the joy I have for life.  That was so sweet of this person to say this…. however…. what she did not know is that the night before, I had cried for hours….. but apparently, a picture doesn’t tell the whole story, now does it?

This got me thinking.

Take a step back for a second, before you lose your mind on another person.  Think it through.  Where is this anger aimed?   Did they do something  you don’t like?  Consider….. You do not walk in their shoes.  You don’t know what goes on behind a smile or behind closed doors.  You just never know if someone is suffering in some way that you are not privy to.

A little kindness goes a long way.

I myself have been preoccupied with the idea of death lately.  I know that sounds horrible, but it’s true… considering my own mortality as I get older and start experiencing the failing health of loved ones and knowing that we all are going to be there one day, thinking how quickly my children are grown…….

Life is too short to be mean.
