Everyone worries about whether or not they will get their newborn in to a photographer “on time”. Personally, I count any baby up to 6 weeks, a newborn. I know that photographers will argue that any baby older than 2 weeks is no longer a newborn, but I still work with them like newborns, and we still get great images!
Babies, however, I tend to say 3 months until they are walking. Check this little girl out. I’m wanting to say she is around 10-12 weeks old here – my motto, no matter the age, we will totally get beautiful images! I photographed her older brother and it was wonderful to see him again, and what a GREAT big brother he was!
Photographers: I see on the forums all the time, many panicking when they have an older baby or refuse to photograph older babies if they were not booked “early enough.” We are the professionals, that’s why we are being paid – learn how to work with the older ones, it is truly a blessing to give lovely images to the parents of any age children….
and of course, the “how to” books on this gorgeous lighting is located here.
