The hidden colors in snow. | Maryland Photographer

Snow is funny to photograph.  First, if you are new to digital photography, you may miss your exposure and end up with white blown areas – not good.  Snow in nice light, can be a rainbow of colors – it’s pretty amazing.

I didn’t go to work yesterday.  First, our roads were a mess from the snow, I have a rental car (long story, I may just have to share that one – our brand new vehicle is turning into quite the lemon – if it doesn’t work out, I will have that blog post published….), and I felt absolutely terrible.  I wanted so bad to get some pictures, but I kept pushing it off because I really just felt awful.

I finally threw on a pair of boots and a hat, hoped no one would see me, and took the camera out.  I started out taking a few shots of leaves with snow on them…. but then really looked at the light.  That light was beautiful and it sure was bringing the colors out everywhere.

There are a lot of hidden colors when it snows.
