Timeless Newborn Photography

I’d like to show some series work of mine from over the years.

Nowadays, newborn photography is all starting to look alike.  I know many photographers don’t want to admit that, but props are being purchased at the same places, same posing techniques used, etc. etc.  I’m feeling like 10 years from now, many parents are going to be looking at their newborn images feeling that they are dated.

This is why I push classic timeless newborn imagery.  Beautiful newborn photography is mostly about the light.   Professionals know exactly what angles of light work best, and they know how to coax even the fussiest babies into natural positions that work for them.

Here are some images from a newborn session I did – 10 years ago.  I remember this baby well.  He was quite a fussy little guy.  He’s not in any of the stereotypical popular newborn poses here, but these images are not dated.  You do not realize they were taken in 2005.

This is what classic timeless imagery is all about.  Taking the classic lighting techniques and letting the subject be beautiful without all the extra fluff.
