Fog in Norrisville, Maryland

Fog in Norrisville, Maryland

I love seeing the morning fog right behind my house.  While I hadn’t yet begun my commute this morning, I did run out with wet hair and muck boots to take this shot.  Sometimes the fog is better than this, but I figured I would catch it before fall is here, and we won’t see it again.

Tech Info:  Nikon D3s, 12-24/2.8 lens – shot at f2.8, 1000 ISO, 1/640.  Because I had only minutes before the fog disappeared, I did not bring the tripod out, so I had to hand hold – it would have been nice to shoot more like F12, but that wasn’t going to happen at that moment.  Sometimes you have to get what you can in the moment.

Edit:  Not much to edit – as usual, I played with highlights/shadows and midtone contrast, and cropped.  This lens has a natural vignette.

You can absolutely see the entire Project Commute series here.
