We are back…

After a very full summer between teaching out of state and finally, finally, after a long year, we went away for a week and a half… and now the studio is back open and we are ready to begin the holiday rush! ;)

If you are waiting for a response from an email or phone call, please expect it no later than Thursday, the 30th.

Just going to post a bunch of images from last week - you can click on them to see them larger…

A Little Rumor

There is a little rumor amongst the photography community that I may be hosting a few small intimate seminars at *my studio* in 2008 focusing specifically on natural-looking studio lighting of newborns and maternity (children too) as well as post processing - and as you know, I don’t hold back SECRETS ;).

Is it just a rumor?  Stay tuned to this blog for more info at a later date :)

If I *WERE* to teach such a seminar <big grin>, one of the items I would be focusing on is shooting newborns.  In the following set of images, which were shot with natural light and which with studio strobes?  I feel they look fairly similar.  That is what I strive to capture with studio lighting - a natural look.  Many natural light photographers find that in certain parts of the country, it gets difficult to shoot natural light only on dreary winter days.  I am an advocate of not limiting oneself, which is why I have spent the past few years focusing on how to keep a natural look while utilizing artificial light.

Update:

Well, it appears we are finally back on line.  After arguing with Verizon for some time, our phone was back in order by Thursday but when the repair man came out, he took away the splitter for the DSL instead of replacing it since he thought it was faulty.

It took until today to finally get a DSL tech out here to install another splitter.  So far, so good.

I’ve uploaded several customers’ galleries, and I know there are more to be uploaded.  Thank you so much for your patience.  Most everything should be taken care of by Wednesday or Thursday of this week, as I am heading out of town to teach another photography workshop this weekend.  I will return on Tuesday, the 14th.  At that time, orders received through last week will be sent out by priority mail.  I will be unable to be reached between August 17th through 27th.
