We’re back!
October 21, 2007 – 5:20 pm
Studio and office will reopen tomorrow morning (Monday). We are back from spending time in Deep Creek with our friends at their cabin! Here’s some images I took while out hiking. I have to say, Tracey and I are aching from the falls we took out on the rocks! Photographers do very stupid things - we focus on an image we just have to capture, and we are so focused in on getting that capture, we don’t pay attention to what is going on around us, and that’s when accidents happen! For me personally, I walked out on a huge rock - stepped in a wet spot on it, and my feet flew right out from under me. In the process of trying to cradle and protect My Precious (my camera lolol), I landed on my right shoulder and back, and I am feeling it today! Ouch!!!
(the image of Tracey shooting on a rock was the last image I took before I fell! ;))
Update - my voicemail is working again!
October 17, 2007 – 4:50 pm
I did not have access to voicemails for a few days - expect all pending phone calls and emails to be answered between today and tomorrow and more customer galleries will be activated as well as custom designs completed. If you do not hear from me by 3 p.m. tomorrow, please contact me again. I will be on a commercial shoot for most of the morning in downtown Baltimore - everything will be wrapped up by tomorrow evening, as I will be away this weekend.

I took a small coffee break and thought I would share a sneak peek again…. Tracey (her blog), I am going to LOVE proofing this session…. everyone kept asking me to show at least one of "the girl lying on the horse’s back"… so here’s just one…. stay tuned for more….
and who can resist a little sunflare! (Tracey hates her picture taken, but I personally loved this moment!

Middle Schooler
October 15, 2007 – 4:48 pm
This year, I have been granted the experience of having a middle schooler, all to myself… my very own middle schooler. Isn’t that exciting?
I figured I would share this image - I’m sure there are plenty others who can relate. This is my middle schooler’s 7-week old binder. Yes, we are not even done the first quarter, and this is his binder. How do you like the handy-dandy ruler holder?
My Pleasure…
October 15, 2007 – 7:01 am
It was my pleasure to photograph these children and their horses yesterday! :) These belong to my friends, Tracey and Brian. Because I won’t be able to proof the images I took yet, I wanted to go ahead and share pictures that Tracey took of me photographing them…. I had a blast. I can’t wait to proof them, but I have a list of 14 sessions to proof prior to this one…
(I hope you don’t mind, Tracey, I grabbed these images from you! :))
In the second one, you can tell JC is a show horse - he looks so proud to be standing there! Oh, and for any of your horse lovers out there. JC is a stallion. Can you believe it? He is so amazingly gentle - these kids are on a stallion!!!! Isn’t that crazy?
Fun Show this weeked….
October 14, 2007 – 7:51 am
Thought I would share some family stuff :) My kids have been practicing hard for a fun show at the stables we board our horses at. It’s a casual show, and believe me, it was sooo much fun to watch! This was the first one we attended, and I am sure both my husband and me will be participating in next year’s. There was even a couple with full-bred Percherons participating, and now my husband wants a fourth horse - a Percheron, for himself! ;) We’ll see come spring if he makes a committment to our three horses now, we will go ahead and get another….
So here is my son, Barrett’s, first place win riding Stormy for the flag race.
Here’s my daughter, Erynn’s, first place win, riding Stormy in the Scurry Race… (and if you notice, Stormy jerks my arm up in excitement - she is a bit ring sour, so she gets way too exciteable/nervous at the gates).
and I have to post this… one of my mares, Willow - well, she’s a good horse, just hasn’t been in a show, so I wasn’t comfortable riding her because I hadn’t really practiced for this show… and I am one that doesn’t like to be put on the spot for something I don’t know quite how to do! ;) So one of the guy’s at the barn wanted to ride her… he’s sort of a daredevil I believe ;) At any rate, Willow is used to being ridden gentle by myself or by my children. She’s not used to a "cowboy" type of rider… what you can’t see in this video because of the angle is that she starts to zigzag her behind back and forth. She has a drafty canter - very bouncy and collected - we are working on teaching her to extend that gait and smooth it out but she hasn’t gotten there yet…. so mix zigzagging her behind, an aggressive rider, and her bouncy gait, and this is disaster (two other guys rode her and did fine, so she isn’t a bad girl….;) )
