I guess there is a silver lining in everything…. I’ve started a new logo concept….uh… MYSELF.  I have never used Adobe Illustrator up until this week.  I purchased it, loaded it, looked at it like “what on earth does any of this mean?”. 

I began to look around for images of horses that I liked - found a PHOTOGRAPH of Arabian with a nice dished-face, traced it, printed the tracing, hand-tweaked a little, scanned it in, tweaked in PhotoShop, printed it again, hand-traced it/tweaked it some more, brought it into Adobe Illustrator, Googled a tutorial on calligraphic brushes, placed the image in layers, traced using my mouse, with a calligraphy brush, and this is what I have gotten so far (upper left).  It still needs some more work, but for not knowing a thing about graphic design, well…. I don’t think it is working out so badly. ;)  It looks nothing like the original photograph - just needed some “base lines” to work with.

I believe our email problems are finally resolved.  Through some work on some things this weekend, quite a few delayed emails came into my box.   If you are waiting for a response to an email and have not received by this afternoon, please email again.   I apologize for the delay, this should be completely resolved now.  Thanks

At this time, no other workshop dates are being announced.  If you wish to attend a future workshop, please email theblackhorsestudio@verizon.net to be put on a waiting list, but we’re really not sure on any dates or even if there will be another date this year due to the schedule being jam-packed from July to December

I cannot apologize enough.  First the server we are hosting on is being moved or something (sorry, I’m not good with all that technical stuff), and now the slideshows/galleries are not working at www.jottephotography.com/slideshows - note where it says “undefined”.  I cannot log in to add galleries.  We are working on this.  The company that I purchased that program from is working on it now.  Thank you for  your patience.  We have about six slideshow galleries waiting to go up.

 I’m sharing an image of myself with my “black horse” that will be my bio image for the book.  My 9-year-old daughter took this picture yesterday for me (actually, she took about 200 - I figured one could be workable…. ;)).  It was quite a fiasco… had to wear muck boots, ankle deep mud in lots of areas, my pushy winter-coat-fuzzy horse who knew he was going to get a treat…. a cat weaving in and out of our feet, and my boy, Scout, ended up squishing apples all over me.  I speak from experience - do not have apple “squish” all over the front of your shirt when you walk through a field of horses… not good.
