Just Lighting Naturally - the Book

So we had a hold put on production of the book

    Just Lighting Naturally

There was a reason behind that. I’ve been developing a slightly new way that I have been post processing natural light images, and wanted to be able to share that in the book, as well as expand some of the information also included. When originally designing this natural light book, I felt something was missing. I needed to add to it, so we placed a hold while I developed more information to share.

Twins!!! | Baltimore Maryland Photographer

I’ve seen quite a few twins this year.  In fact, I just photographed a set of twin newborn boys yesterday… this, however, is a set of twins - brother and sister… I was amazed how much the little girl looks like mom and the little boy looks like dad!  They were too cute and sooooo quiet and sleepy…

A note to my fellow photographers: I’ve received a few emails about this lately - yes, you are right, I have been playing with some new post processing techniques - you did indeed spot that, so stop rubbing your eyes… it’s subtle, but you noticed it! lol! ;) More on that later - it’s mainly for the natural light images and I will discuss that a little tomorrow, with an announcement…

Natural Light Photography Baltimore Maryland

Outdoors some more with two little girls… this time of year is so nice for outdoor photography - all around the studio everything is bright green and flowery ;) 

I was thinking the other day about how I hate the humidity in Maryland.  But without it, we wouldn’t have so much greenery like this.  It truly is a beautiful place to live and work.

Weekend Adventures…

Just sharing a quick six pics of this weekend’s adventures.  First up - Dean and Barrett go to “kayak school” to learn how to self rescue, etc. before proceeding on their own kayaking trips… Dean reported that it was extremely challenging and nothing like he expected ;)

Then we have Erynn’s first hunter/jumper show.  Yes her form is lacking, but our goal was to get her through the courses without incident, and that goal was accomplished. She did come home with quite a few ribbons ;)  We have video of her horse rearing in the middle of the ring - at some point, I will upload and edit that one.

Newborn Photography

I’ve been neglecting my blog again - my apologies.  All the end-of-school-year activities have been taking place, and now it’s time to get into the new summer schedule.  We are still in the midst of the newborn baby boom!  Notice the last green-fluff shot for a bit, and Dad is a fireman so we used his helmet… This is the second time I have photographed this family - this is their second baby, their first was just as beautiful ;)

Weekend Paper Chase in PA…

My daughter, Erynn, and I just finished up a Paper Chase in PA this weekend… I’m happy to report, no falls, although my mare did rear on me twice as she gets pretty hyped up when there is competition…  I enjoy this with my daughter so very much, and I know I have to hold onto these moments as before I know it, it will be so uncool to ride out with mom… *sigh*  So I will cherish every second!

Non-Portraits | Commercial, Editorial, Nature, Landscape

I know I have a few people who follow this blog who remember years and years ago when all I would share is my personal pictures for fun, or my landscape/nature work… Why do I know this?  Because I am still getting emails asking if I stopped doing nature/landscape work, and why don’t I show it….

Well, when I opened my studio, it took off to the point where I haven’t found much time for shooting for personal use, let alone sharing things other than portrait work.  I am happy to say, we are FINALLY getting another site finished up that will have all of the non-portrait work.  Some on this new site have been used in publications both commercially and editorially, but also some of the more well-known images that have been displayed in galleries and shows and even some simple things that just catch my eye…  It’s slowly getting completed, and I can’t wait to share.

In the meantime, here is something that I don’t believe I have ever showed…
