Portrait artist and photographer, Jodie Holstein-Otte, captures unique images of children and babies with a relaxed approach,allowing the child’s personality to naturally emerge to create beautiful images that draw her viewers in.
Her artistic talent and obsession with light are undeniably what has caused such a buzz throughout Maryland and the surrounding areas. Her clients travel from all over for a one-of-a-kind photographic experience.
Jodie’s images have been featured in Maryland Family’s Baby Steps Magazine as well as a few other publications including the cover and pages of Maryland-based Modern Babies and Children Magazine. She has also been seen on Fox News in Baltimore and 13 of her images have been published in The Big Book of Babies by J. C. Suares. She generally participates yearly in the Bel Air Festival for the Arts and her work has been on display through The Waterfall Gallery and Project-Gallery.Jodie resides in scenic Northern Harford County, MD with her husband of 13 years and their son and daughter. As a mom, she understands how important it is to document these special times in your children’s lives in a beautiful way and have these artistic images to cherish for a lifetime.
Jodie opened her studio, the Black Horse Studio & Gallery in January of 2007 located in beautiful historic Monkton, Maryland, convenient to Interstate 83. The studio allows for versatility in studio and outdoor images. The spacious loft has very much character with 170-year-old refurbished wood flooring and exposed brick walls which are sometimes incorporated into portraits, as well as traditional and non-traditional lighting and backdrop setups. The studio is located on gorgeous property for outdoor images year round.
